An Old Update - Saturday, Apr/23/2011

It's been sometime since my last update. For the last 4 months I've been living in Los Angeles, CA working with Force Field PR on a mentorship grant from Nova Scotia's Culture Division. I've had a great time living in LA and learned a lot from experiences at one of top PR companies in the US. The goal now is to apply all that I've learned at Force Field to bring Drewjoma up to that next level.

Duzheknew is on the home stretch of a 6 week tour across North America with Cousins. They played at DIY spaces all over the US, a SXSW showcase and now a headlining tour across Canada. Check for tour dates in Toronto and Montreal coming up. Following their tour Duzheknew plans to record in Halifax and postpone any over seas travel until the band has a new record to promote.

Long Long Long have launched into a North American tour this weekend with the release of their latest EP Who The Fuck Said Family Ain't Family No More available for free download on Bandcamp. Look for tour dates everywhere across North America including festival performances at Wyrd III and Sled Island.

Nu Sensae are preparing for an upcoming tour with White Lung starting on May 14 in Vancouver at the Astoria [FB Event], check out their insane tour promo video here, NU SENSAE / WHITE LUNG TOUR PROMO. All the North American tour dates and a music video for 'I'm a Body' are being announced soon. Stay posted.

Favourite Releases of 2010 - Friday, Dec/31/2010

Women - Public Strain
A heavy-build drifter of deep sentiment that captured the dark seed of a miserable winter. For all that was achieved on this record it will go down as all-time classic.

Long Long Long - Self-titled and Shorts
The wunder-pop kids that made a come-back. Splashed dashes of tropicalla brilliance over math-inspired quasi riffs, remember when it all began?

Sun Araw - On Patrol
Deep penetrating explosive beats, slow steady bombastic and all kinds of groove. Destroy the streets at night with the carried rhythm of an undercover beat cop.

Oneohtrix Point Never - Returnal
Space eludes the sensation of outer-planet exploration where time is distant. Frogs croak melodies of harmony and other worldly bliss. Carry on to find the inception.

Grimes - Geidi Primes
Socked away in a layer of space without a trace of love to call upon, a heartfelt rendition of beauty captured beneath the soul and carried out into the world.

Chanteuse - Live at Argyle Fine Arts
Passionate love affairs of the classical variety in a rock rendition set on the floor of an art gallery in Halifax. Set the mood for a bold fever that will carry your night.

Das Racist - Shut Up, Dude
Donkey kong rocked the beat and came up with a wild collection of ruby refer- ences that redefine modern day hip hop with an insane tribute to the combination.

Mean Wind - What Happens in Hingham Stays in Hingham
Sweet swells of bedroom lust captured on a repeat loop station. Elements of shimmering glass and light rain that keep an honest man productive in a day.

Baths - Cerulean
Quick fix electro dips sink into heart-rhythms that sync with the tele kinesis energy that causes absurd dance moves. Embrace the planetary shake as it draws near.

Grown-Ups - I Can't Win
Bart record of the year, heavy hearted punk rippers with the i don't give a fuck atti- tude of leaving a job, leaving a girlfriend, and tearing through an old photo album.
